Gold for Queenstown’s Patagonia Project!
AJ Saville wins gold on Queenstown’s Patagonia project
AJ Saville is ecstatic to have our hard work and expertise recognised by the Registered Master Builder’s Commercial Project Awards, receiving a gold award for our work on Queenstown’s new Patagonia store.
Through shared commitment with Patagonia’s brand values to sustainability, we fitted out the CBD retail store with recycled, eco-friendly and sustainable material to build an inviting, multifunctional space in Queenstown’s CBD overlooking Lake Wakatipu
Central to construction was the use of sustainable material like reclaimed timber and woolshed flooring, ensuring minimal wastage. We’re immensely grateful to our suppliers, the craftmanship demonstrated by our team, and thank our partners at Cromwell’s Masterwood Joinery for being essential to sourcing materials and completing the interior’s joinery.
The store can be used as a community space for gatherings and engagement, and features of its unique spatial design include large oak beams and a ‘fly bar’ that was installed for workshops and education in waterway protection and fly fishing.
We were thrilled to take on the challenge when Patagonia approached us (despite shopfitting not being our core business as we’re renowned for our premium residential builds). We’re very proud to be recognised among the best in New Zealand as one of three retail category gold award winners at the 2024 awards.
